out and about

Good Morning Canada

My colleague Hans Koopman was recently interviewed on CFJC television, to discuss our book Poly and the Poopy Heads.

Poly and the Poopy Heads is a story about plastics and recycling. Poly is a young girl who loves exploring the world around her. She likes to ask questions, and is learning how to think like a big girl. With the help of her Grandpa and her friends Akesha, Billy and Carla, they out smart the poopy heads who want to take their toys away.

The story is intended to teach children about the world around them, including how things are made and the importance of asking questions, especially when rules are being made by poopy heads.

Hans is an industrial designer by trade, who spent most of his career in the materials industry. He can sketch like a madman, and he knows more about the practical application of materials than anyone I know. Hans recently retired, and he and his wife Dawna now live in Kamloops.

Kamloops is located in the Thompson River Valley, approximately 220 miles from Vancouver. It is located on Highway 1, the main route of the Trans-Canada Highway through British Columbia.  Highway 1 is the main gateway to western Alberta, including Banff,  Jasper, and the Canadian Rockies.
